Scripture. Strength. Brotherhood. Discipline.
Who We Are
The 150 Brotherhood is a global fellowship of men devoted to memorizing Scripture, strengthening the body, and cultivating Christlike discipline. Each brother walks a personal path training in his own hometown, church, and Brazilian Jujitsu academy yet united by a shared commitment to memorize all 150 Psalms and pursue mastery in Brazilian Jujitsu.
We are not a club or a martial arts team. We are a lifelong brotherhood shaped through obedience, perseverance, and humility. Every man advances through disciplined spiritual practice and disciplined physical training, not for the sake of rank or achievement, but to be formed into a man of strength, devotion, and holiness. Once a year, brothers can apply for certification to demonstrate their readiness to face the lifetime trials.
Our identity is forged in silence, struggle, and devotion. We believe strength belongs to men who submit both their spirit and their body to God through daily training and Scripture mastery. This brotherhood is not a social media movement. It exists quietly, personally, and deliberately, shaped through Scripture, disciplined training, and devotion to God.
Our mission is simple:
Memorize the Psalms. Train the body. Become a man strengthened by discipline.
This is the path of The 150 Brotherhood.
Why We Exist
The 150 Brotherhood exists to restore and strengthen biblical masculinity in a generation that has largely forgotten it. In a culture marked by confusion, passivity, and spiritual compromise, the Brotherhood calls men back to a life of Scripture, discipline, courage, and accountable devotion to God.
Its purpose is simple: to form a global fraternity of Christian men who have memorized all 150 Psalms, forged disciplined physical strength through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and committed themselves to humility, obedience, and daily perseverance. The Brotherhood provides structure, clarity, and a lifelong path for men who desire to become dependable, steady, Christ-centered leaders; men God can trust, and men their families and communities can rely on.
How It Works (Solitary Yet Unified)
Each man trains on his own; memorizing the Psalms at his own pace, developing his Brazilian Jujitsu skill through his local academy, and strengthening his walk with God through daily obedience. There are no required meetings or chapters. Brotherhood is formed through shared commitment, not shared location.
Although each man trains privately, the Brotherhood remains unified through one central structure:
Our Yearly Certification Day.
Once a year, men from around the world may apply to attend this event when they believe they are ready to complete the two lifetime trials—the Psalter Trial and the Warrior Kumite. There is no fixed schedule or timeline that dictates when someone must attempt them. A man comes forward only when his preparation, character, and discipline are mature enough to face the tests.
This simple structure keeps the Brotherhood decentralized yet connected: each man grows independently, yet all are shaped by the same trials, the same standards, and the same lifelong pursuit.
The mission remains straightforward:
Memorize the Psalms. Master Brazilian Jujitsu.
Everything in the Brotherhood centers on these two pillars: spiritual depth and disciplined strength, pursued faithfully for a lifetime. Mastery is not perfection or completion, but the threshold of a new beginning.
What Inspired Us
The 150 Brotherhood is deeply inspired by the early Christian monks known as the Desert Fathers (3rd–5th centuries). These men believed that memorizing the Psalms was essential for shaping the mind toward God. In the earliest monastic communities of Egypt and Palestine, monks committed all 150 Psalms to memory and recited them throughout the day until Scripture became the natural language of their hearts. The Psalms trained their emotions toward holiness, guided their minds in prayer, and strengthened their souls against temptation. Their goal was to internalize Scripture so completely that even in moments of rest, their thoughts would naturally rise toward the Word of God. This ancient devotion is the foundation of our pursuit today. Today, spiritual warfare often takes place in the realm of attention, with algorithms, apps, and entertainment constantly competing for the mind. The Psalter Challenge trains men to resist this drift, stewarding their focus toward Scripture so the Psalms become the steady voice forming their thoughts.
The Trials
-
The Psalter Trial is the spiritual proving ground of the Brotherhood. A brother must recite all 150 Psalms from memory, completed either in a single sitting or across two to three sessions on the same day. This trial demands unwavering focus, breath control, endurance, and reverence before God. Once a man successfully completes it, he never repeats it again.
-
The Warrior Kumite is the physical test of the Brotherhood. It is a sixty-minute continuous rolling session in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a fresh partner entering every two to three minutes. The goal is not domination but composure, technique, humility, and resilient endurance. The Warrior Kumite is intended only for men who have reached black belt level in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This trial is completed once in a lifetime and never repeated.
-
Every three years, each brother returns for a Recertification Trial. He must accurately recite ten Psalms chosen at random, demonstrating continued devotion and spiritual sharpness. If he falls short, he enters a guided remediation period and retests at a later date.
